Admissions
Applications are currently closed.
Applications for the Spring 2026 Academy are closed. Applications for the Fall 2026 cohort will open late in the Spring 2026 semester to students graduating in December 2028 or May 2029 (Freshmen). Please reach out to Scotty Brown (sbrow194@vols.utk.edu) with any questions.
Process and Requirements
To maintain the quality of the TCMS experience we must limit the number of members in each cohort. We conduct two admissions cycles for each grade level - during the Fall and Spring of a student’s Freshman year. We encourage applicants to reapply in the Spring cycle if unsuccessful in the Fall.
Prior to the release of each application, TCMS will host an information session and will provide deadlines on our social media and website.
-
The application process includes:
Application with written responses and resume/LinkedIn submission
Competitive applicants will be selected for an in-person interview with members of the TCMS executive team
A select number of students will be invited to second-round interviews, also in-person
Offers will be released following the conclusion of second-round interviews
-
Competitive applicants have or have demonstrated:
Academic achievement through a high GPA (as close to 4.0 as possible, not lower than 3.5)
Involvement on campus, especially including other finance organization(s) like UTIG, FMA, WinFin, etc.
Basic understanding of high finance and desired role(s) within the industry
Strong interest in and understanding of what TCMS offers
(If applicable) professionalism in prior interactions with the TCMS team
A polished resume and LinkedIn profile
While deep technical finance knowledge is not required (freshmen have likely taken no finance or accounting coursework), there may be a brief technical screen as part of the application process. Our team will provide study materials and relevant topics at the appropriate time.
-
Juniors and Seniors may be admitted on a case-by-case basis but will not be able to attend the Academy due to space constraints. This is rare and is generally reserved for those students who have received offers in TCMS’s target industries. These members would have access to speaker meetings and other TCMS events.
Upperclassmen admission is extremely limited may include an industry-style technical and behavioral interview with our team and demonstration of strong potential.
