Scotty Brown
PRESIDENT
Scotty Brown, from Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a Junior Finance major. He joined TCMS in 2024 and previously served as Director of Development for TCMS. He has completed internships in finance and government, including as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst for Pinnacle Financial Partners in Charlotte, NC and as an intern at the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. Scotty is currently the Assistant Student Director and a Junior Bloomberg Analyst in the Masters Investment Learning Center as well as a Haslam Torch Fund manager, member of the Business Honors Council, an Officer in the University of Tennessee Investment Group, and part of the Haslam Leadership Scholars and Haslam Business Fellows programs.
In Summer 2026, Scotty will be joining J.P. Morgan’s investment bank in New York as a Summer Analyst.
Charlie Curtis — President of Volunteer Capital
from Newtown, Connecticut, Charlie is a Senior Finance major and previously served as President of TCMS. He joined the TCMS Academy in the spring of his freshman year. Charlie has gained experience across various fields, including investment banking and private equity, working as a Spring Intern at El Toro Capital Management and as a General Partner Funds Summer Analyst for General Atlantic. Currently, he is a Senior Bloomberg Analyst at the Masters Investment Learning Center and previously served as a McClain Torch Fund manager. Charlie interned with the Technology & Industrial Software M&A team at Lazard in Charlotte, NC, where he will be returning full time.
Lucas Heifner — Vice President of Operations
From Nashville, Tennessee, Lucas is a Junior Finance major and previously served as Director of Operations for TCMS. He joined the TCMS Academy in the spring of his freshman year. He has gained experience in the capital markets by completing several internships, including as a Private Equity Analyst-Intern at El Toro Capital Management and an Equity Research Summer Analyst for Thompson Research Group. Currently, he is a Junior Bloomberg Analyst in the Masters Investment Learning Center, and is also involved in the University of Tennessee Investment Group and the Financial Management Association. In Summer 2026, Lucas will be joining Lazard’s Technology & Industrial Software M&A team in Charlotte, NC as a Summer Analyst.
Josh Sievers — VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT
From Jackson, Tennessee, Josh is a Junior Finance major and previously served as Director of Membership for TCMS. He joined TCMS in 2024 and has completed internships in equity research and private equity, most recently for Greater Sum Ventures. He joined the investment banking team at XLCS Partners in Summer 2025 and is currently a Junior Bloomberg Analyst in the Masters Investment Learning Center as well as President of the Financial Management Association, an officer in the University of Tennessee Investment Group, and part of the Haslam Business Fellows Program. In Summer 2026, Josh will be joining Jefferies’ TMT team in Charlotte, NC as a Summer Analyst.
Cashen Crowe — Co-Director of Development
From Franklin, Tennessee, Cashen is a Sophomore Finance and Accounting major. He joined the TCMS Academy in Spring 2025 and previously served as Director of Finance for TCMS. Cashen has gained experience through internships in macroeconomic and equity research and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Financial Management Association and as an Officer in Smokey's Cleanup Crew. He is currently a Bloomberg Ambassador in the Masters Investment Learning Center. In Summer 2026, Cashen will be joining XLCS Partners in Nashville, TN as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst and plans to pursue a role in investment banking.
Clint Hemminger — Co-Director of Development
From Morristown, Tennessee, Clint is a Sophomore Finance and Accounting major. He joined TCMS in Spring 2025 and previously served as Director of Operations for TCMS. Clint has gained experience through internships in Corporate Venture Capital at HP Tech Ventures and most recently in Wealth Management at Benjamin F. Edwards. Currently, he is Vice President of External Relations for the Financial Management Association (FMA), a Representative on the Haslam Student Advisory Council, and a Peer Mentor. He plans to pursue a role in Investment Banking.
Matthew Bowell — Director of Operations
From Rockville, Maryland, Matthew is a Sophomore Finance major . He joined the TCMS Academy in Fall 2025 and previously served as the Director of Outreach for TCMS. Matthew has gained experience across various fields, including real estate analysis and wealth management, working as a Financial Real Estate Analyst for Arc70 and as a Wealth Management Summer Analyst for Fox Financial Investments. He is also a member of the Excel Modeling Club and currently serves as a Sports Referee for the University of Tennessee Intramural Sports Program. He plans to pursue a role in Investment Banking.
Winter Biel — Director of Membership
From Brentwood, Tennessee, Winter is a Sophomore Finance major. She joined the TCMS Academy in Spring 2025. Winter has gained experience as a Summer Investment Banking/Private Equity Advisory Intern at Praxess and participating in the Balyasny Asset Management Stock Pitch Competition. Currently, she is a Bloomberg Ambassador in the Masters Investment Learning Center, a Haslam Leadership Scholar, an Officer for the University of Tennessee Investment Group and Women in Finance, and is involved in Delta Sigma Pi & Kappa Delta. In Summer 2026, Winter will be joining Victory Park Capital in Chicago, IL as a Private Credit Summer Analyst. She plans to pursue a role in Investment Banking.
Manoa Nicholson — Director of Marketing
From Kansas City, Missouri, Manoa is a Sophomore Finance and Accounting major. She joined the TCMS Academy in the Fall of 2025. She serves as the Assistant Director of Finance for her sorority, Kappa Delta, and is actively involved in Women in Finance, Business Fellows, and the Haslam TakeOff program. Through these roles, she has developed experience in financial analysis, strategic budgeting, and leadership in business. She plans to pursue a role in Investment Banking.
Gregory Zike — Director of Communications
From Falls Church, Virginia, Gregory is a Sophomore Finance Major. He joined the TCMS academy in the spring of 2025. He has gained experience in the capital markets by interning at Star Course as a Private Equity intern, as well as at Arc70 as a financial real estate analyst. He is also a member of the Financial Management Association. He plans to pursue a role in Investment Banking.
Isabella Leonard — Director of Finance
From Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, Isabella is a sophomore Finance and Accounting major with a Business Analytics collateral. She joined the TCMS Academy in the Fall of 2025. Isabella has gained experience through her role as a Venture Capital Extern with HP Tech Ventures and as an Accounting Assistant at Donnellon and Donnellon Corporation. She serves as Vice President of Finance for Kappa Delta, is a member of both Order of Omega and Women of Haslam, and is involved in other finance organizations on campus. Isabella plans to pursue a role in Investment Banking.

Jamison Arthur — Junior Advisor
From Brentwood, Tennessee, Jamison is a Junior Finance and Accounting major. She joined TCMS in Fall 2024. Jamison has completed internships in both finance and healthcare, including as a Finance Operations Intern at Spectrum Healthcare Resources and as an Extern for Colton Alexander, where she analyzed market trends and sustainability-focused investments. She currently serves as a Junior Bloomberg Analyst in the Masters Investment Learning Center, is an active member of the Haslam Business Fellows and Chancellor’s Honors Program, and holds leadership roles in Women in Finance and the University of Tennessee Investment Group. She plans to pursue a career in high finance, focusing on asset management or investment research.
Daniel Carlucci — Junior Advisor
From Clark, New Jersey, Dan is a junior finance major. He joined TCMS in Fall 2024 and has since completed two internships: one in FP&A for the London-based LMP Group as well as investment analysis for the hedge fund Miura Global Management. Dan will be returning to Miura Global this summer to continue his work covering the digital entertainment industry and generating new investment ideas. Outside of TCMS, Dan is a Junior Bloomberg Analyst in the Masters Investment Learning Center, a Greg and Lisa Smith Global Leadership Scholar, is involved with the University of Tennessee Investment Group, and is the President of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi.
Cayle Beltran — Senior Advisor
From El Paso, Texas, Cayle is a Senior Finance major and previously served as Director of Development for TCMS. He joined TCMS in 2023 and is currently a Senior Bloomberg Analyst in the Masters Investment Learning Center as well as a Carroll Torch Fund manager. He also serves as the Director of Sales and Trading for the University of Tennessee Investment Group and is a member of the Haslam Business Fellows Program and 1794 Honors & Scholars Program. Cayle interned with the Tech & Defense coverage group at Regions Bank in Charlotte, NC, where he will be returning Full Time.
Addie Heehs — Senior Advisor
From Memphis, Tennessee, Addie is a Senior Finance and Accounting major. She joined TCMS as a freshman in 2022 and is a Haslam Leadership Scholar and Smith Global Leadership Scholar. She is also a Senior Bloomberg Analyst in the asters Investment Learning Center and is involved in Student Alumni Associates and Alpha Omicron Pi, as well as previously serving as a McClain Torch Fund Manager. She has completed several internships, most recently as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst for Raymond James in Memphis, TN. She will be returning to Raymond James full time in Chicago, IL following graduation.
Andrew brown — Senior Advisor
From Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Andrew is a Senior Finance major and previously served as VP of Operations for TCMS. He joined TCMS as a freshman in 2022, leading to multiple finance internships. Andrew has experience in equity research and venture capital. He is currently the Student Director and a Senior Bloomberg Analyst in the Masters Investment Learning Center and President of the University of Tennessee Investment Group. He served as a manager on the Haslam Torch Fund. After graduation, Andrew plans to pursue a role in Investment Banking or Asset Management.
Faculty Advisors
Dr. Michael Yates
Dr. Yates is a clinical associate professor of finance in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. He received his Ph.D. in Finance at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and has previously held the position of clinical assistant professor and faculty director of the MS Finance program at Georgia State University and assistant professor at Auburn University. His labor economics paper “Strike Three: Discrimination, Incentives and Evaluation” was published in the American Economic Review and has been cited in the New York Times, USA Today, Time.com and elsewhere.
Dr. Phillip Daves
Dr. Daves received a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Finance) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at The University of Tennessee. His research, teaching, and consulting interests are in asset pricing, derivative securities, firm valuation, and corporate finance. He has published academic research papers in such journals as The Journal of Finance, Applied Financial Economics, The Financial Review, and The International Journal of Finance.
